West Virginia Leadership Conference
on April 27th & 28th!

 


Leadership Lessons is the theme of the 2011 West Virginia Leadership Conference which will feature Doris Kearns Goodwin, world-renowned historian and Pulitzer Prize winning author. As the keynote speaker, Ms. Goodwin will focus on the leadership lessons found in her New York Times Best Seller Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln. Steven Spielberg is currently developing a feature film about the book. When President Obama was asked, “If you could only bring one book to the White House other than The Bible, what would it be?” He responded, “Team of Rivals.”

 

This year’s conference will be a two-day event held at Morgantown’s Waterfront Place Hotel on April 27th and 28th.

 

At the West Virginia Leadership Conference, current and future West Virginia business, government and educational leaders gather to focus on leadership obstacles, opportunities and skill development. This year’s conference offers you the chance to:

 

Panels comprised of several West Virginia business, healthcare, energy and political leaders will discuss leadership in difficult times and the important role ethics plays in leadership.

 

Attendance is expected to include business leaders, senior leaders from the West Virginia Roundtable, members of Generation West Virginia and student leaders from the state’s colleges and universities.

 

Registration includes lunch on both days, Wednesday’s cocktail reception and dinner, breakfast on Thursday and a copy of Ms. Goodwin’s book Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln. The cost is $325 for single attendees and $150 for students and members of Generation West Virginia.
